SCLLC Launches Unique App for Communicating during a Crisis
SCLLC
has launched a new mobile web application to help organizations
communicate quickly and effectively during a crisis situation,
addressing a serious need held by business leaders and communicators
throughout the United States.
The propriety app from SCLLC uses a framework developed by Syracuse-based AppFury called We Are Mobile. It offers organizations the ability to access the most critical information from their crisis communications plans
when they are away from the office or their computers. During a crisis
situation, there is no time to lose in getting to this important
information.
“The premise for this mobile app originated
more than a year ago, while we were working with several organizations
to develop practical and effective crisis communications plans,” Crystal Smith said. “We
engaged our clients throughout development to ensure the app would be
able to do exactly what they will need it to do in the event of a
crisis or other serious situation.”
“This project was a
perfect fit for AppFury’s technical and strategic business
model,” Andrew Farah, Chief Information Officer at AppFury, said. “It
provides a simple, easy-to-use menu that allows individuals the ability
to access and use their organization’s crisis communication plan
virtually anywhere – even without cell phone reception.”
When
SCLLC works with the organization to develop a crisis communication
plan, the mobile app is customized for that organization to include a
crisis assessment tool, detailed action steps for communicating during
and after a crisis, media response guidelines, holding statements for
specific potential risks, and a directory of key personnel.
